Day 2 – 28th July – Everest Match
Saturday dawned and Vince went to the gym for an early morning workout, where he found a couple doing some ‘unusual exercises’!  The rest of the group had no such stimulation to overcame our lethargy, but some excellent salt fish and bakes for breakfast helped, before we headed for Everest.  En route we checked in at the Roraima Airways office, as the credit card details that many of us had sent over the internet had not been acceptable (in my case because I had ticked Visa instead of Mastercard).  That was annoying, but we did sort it out and then progressed to Everest where we had a surprise waiting.  A film crew (from New York Film School in Singapore) was making a film about cricket, and they wanted some background and extras.  So we did this, but it did rather interfere with the pre-match preparation.  Inverhaugh batted first and made a disappointing 128 for 9 in 30 overs, which Everest had little trouble in overcoming – although they did retire two batsmen and then got in to trouble, losing 3 or 4 quick wickets before sealing the win (Scorecard).  There followed an excellent party (including some really good live music) which was tough to leave.  Got back to the hotel and crashed after our team meeting to discuss the location of the next tour (Trinidad), which Keran has promised to organize for Easter 2013.
